Brela Croatia: Best Pebble Beaches

If you are looking for the best pebble beaches, Brela Croatia, an attractive village set on a beautiful full six kilometers Riviera, is the right place of the the whitest pebbly beaches along the Adriatic coast.

The highlights of this small village, 90 km south of Split are the beaches. From the beginning to the end, along 6 km long Riviera, countless beaches, some of the fine gravel (almost sand), others with white pebble, has contributed to be the most beautiful beaches in Croatia.

Even the famous The Huffington Post in 2014 article describes this village ‘The Secret European Beach Retreat You’ve Been Dreaming About’. The only mistake in this article, made by Lisa Miller, Associate Editor of HuffPost Travel, where she describes, this Riviera as “three and a half miles of pristine sandy beaches “.

The sand is quite different. Croatia also has some beautiful sandy beaches but those along this Riviera are not sandy beaches and I assure you they are much more beautiful and the sea is more cleaner with blue-green crystalline waters.

Actually the seashore is crisscrossed with a series of small private coves, some have thick shade of either pine, palm trees or bushes. On the stretch from Punta Rata ( a symbol of Riviera) to the next village of Baska Voda, there is a group of small beaches divided by rocks.

Brela Croatia Beaches That Stand Out

There are two beaches which stand out for their unique beauty:

Dugi rat beach, better known as Punta Rata, is widely known, and the influential American magazine Forbes declared the most beautiful beaches in Europe and the sixth most beautiful in the world.

This beach is located on the western part of the village with the famous Rock, a symbol of the village , the most common motive from the postcards of Croatia. This rock with the pine tree growing from the stone has a symbolic meaning of the natural beauty and the human care for nature conservation.

Berulia beach is located in front of the Bluesun Hotel Berulia and with its small bays it creates a perfect intimate atmosphere no matter whether you are on your honeymoon, summer holiday or wellness break.

The beach has been awarded the Blue Flag several times because of its cleanliness, its excellent position and numerous facilities.
