All Inclusive Istria Resorts

Istria accommodation includes some high quality 'all inclusive resorts', usually called vacation villages or holiday resorts that  provide the most of vacationers' needs during their stay, such as food, drink, lodging, sports, entertainment and shopping.

All inclusive resorts in Croatia have a great value as you'll know in advance how much your holidays are going to cost you. Istria has been always known by numerous resorts scattered from Umag to Pula.

Here are my personal recommended resorts:

Heritage and boutique hotels recently started to play important role in Istria accommodation. Most of these heritage hotels and historic lodging are small family run properties that offer one of the best holiday accommodation in Istria.

Heritage is one of the most pervasive tourism resources in the world. Istria uses (like all Croatia's destinations) their unique heritage and cultural resources to enhance a national image which enables visitors to conceive the rich historical past.

Croatian government in past few years has taken steps in marketing these accommodation in Istria, encouraging local people to convert their properties into small hotels.

It will be a long list of these accommodation around Istria, each of them reflecting tradition of the area where they are built. Most of them also feature fine dining restaurant with gourmet specialties of their area.

If you are looking for a perfect Istria travel itinerary  you can find some of these small family run hotels. My personal picks would be some properties around so called green Istria.

Private Villas Renting

There are many many beautiful villas to rent in Istria. According to my opinion these self catering villas are the best Istria accommodation.

Villas are scattered all over Istria peninsula particularly concentrated over peninsula inner parts, popularly called 'green Istria '.

Most of the villas are placed in peaceful  scenery of small villages, many are secluded and almost all of them include an outside swimming pool. All are connected with excellent roads and are not far from the seaside.

Most of villas Istria accommodation are self-catering type (guests provide their own meals) but some offer an option to hire full staff. At the moment of booking, there is also possibility to arrange meals or only breakfast.

The villas can accommodate from 5 to 10 people, with several bedrooms and bathrooms. The most are recommended for families with children, pets friendly, free internet connections, free parking, outdoor grill and with all household appliances.

One of my favorite villas is Vila Romana with private pool near Porec and Rovinj. Located near the village Sveti Petar u Sumi (St. Peter in the wood ) is a 3 bedroom property, ideal per families with children.

Istria Accommodation - Private Apartments

This type of accommodation is the most common in Istria and I personally consider it,  a good choice for your holiday accommodation in Istria.

It's a great way to know better Croatian way of living. Croatian people are easy to get along with. They are excellent hosts. Local people are polite and are not too curious.

They will not trouble you with talking to you if you don’t like to socialize. But they will always be available to you in case you should  need help. Most of local apartments rental owners speak several languages, from Italian, German and English (in this order).

Campsites Istria Accommodation

Traditionally Istria peninsula has the largest number of campgrounds of all types. The most of camps in Istria are by sea, ideal for family holidays. There are over 42 campsites along the Istria coast from Umag to Pula.

Vrsar Porto Sole campsite

Istria campsites are one of the most luxurious in Europe. Istria campsites are actually holiday resorts with better amenities facilities than in many hotels.

Most of Istria campsites offer variety of accommodation: plots, cottages and mobile homes. Most of them are equipped with big outdoor swimming pools, offering sport facilities, shops and restaurants.

Campsite's plots are generally small ( up to 120 m2) but predominate usually smaller. They are all well maintained and all by the sea with some plots at the very seafront.

Mobile Homes Porto Sole Vrsar

Definitely I consider campsites Istria accommodation a good choice for your holidays for visitors on four wheels particularly with motor-homes (campers).

Most of Istria campsites are highly quoted and recommended by German Automobile Club ADAC, the largest automobile club in Europe (with over 19 millions members).
